I agree and the scene from Apocalypto comes to mind when the Father is explaining to his son the concept of Fear....

Interesting film! I've never watched it, but I just did here. I enjoyed it. The film very much illustrates the clash between the sociopathic world (the violent raiders) and the non-sociopathic world (the peaceful forest dwellers). The parallels to the modern world are chilling.

I have seen numerous testing methodologies that hold a lot of promise for identifying sociopaths. Why are they never developed and refined? In fact, it seems like the same methodologies are discovered over and over again, much like free energy technologies, which also never get developed and refined. Coincidence? Or are both being suppressed?

Here's another rediscovery of testing for psychological deviancy. Wanna bet nothing becomes of it?

Quote:
A German neurologist claims to have found the area of the brain where evil lurks in killers, rapists and robbers.

Bremen scientist Dr Gerhard Roth says the 'evil patch' lies in the brain's central lobe and shows up as a dark mass on X-rays.

'We showed these people short films and measured their brain waves,' he said.

'Whenever there were brutal and squalid scenes the subjects showed no emotions. In the areas of the brain where we create compassion and sorrow, nothing happened.'

The dark mass at the front of the brain, he says, appears in all scans of people with records for criminal violence.

He says his researches have led him to believe that some criminals have a 'genetic predisposition' to violence. -- source

Morality is the only way to identify a sociopath. Thinking science can identify sociopathy, is like the medical business removing tonsils to improve immunity.

And this "virtue" in the hands of a hidden sociopath, even more horrific.

If morality can be measured via brain function, and there is good evidence that it can, then major sociopathic tendencies can be identified mechanically. You should not dismiss the brain as the primary seat of emotion just because someone theorizes consciousness lies outside the brain, especially when the evidence is weak and consciousness cannot even be defined.

Bad analogy. It's more like science thinking it can send men to the Moon.

Agreed. That is the real danger, and it is mostly the case as things are currently.

This morning, I saw some broad evidence that sociopaths are running things.

I tend to differentiate sociopaths from psychopaths according to how many people they feed on at a time. Both are dangerous parasites, but psychopaths are focused on individuals, whereas sociopaths are focused on populations.

Junk DNA for the brain?
I dont dismiss science, it factors in. It is to much of a slippery slope though. It will be interesting to see how it manifests.

The evidence is strong, producing numbers, patterns, process trees etc... Hiding in plain sight?
Do we have to define consciousness to acknowledge it? Of course not.

You appear to be holding contradictory positions with the morality of science. Knowing of what a Technocracy is, would show this.

Evidence must have real significance. Humans commonly assign significance according to their biases and knowledge base, usually in error, which is no surprise given the extent of our biases and the poverty of our knowledge base.

Science has no morality. Humans have morality, in varying degrees. Those with the weakest morality, the sociopaths, currently have control of the sciences (and anything else that money can buy).

Numbers and similarities have no real significance?

In a perfect world. Your own quote suits this best. Just replace science with philosophy.

Quote:
Under normal circumstances, the philosophy of christian anarchism has a lot of wisdom on its side. Under abnormal conditions, for example sociopathic abuse and violence, it is extremely vulnerable.

Agreed...

Numbers, patterns, and similarities may or may not be significant, depending on how and why we are trying to interpret them. Yes, we need to examine them. No, we should not dismiss them out of hand. And yes, we have to question everything, including our own biases and lack of knowledge.

For some people, Chicodoodoo is all about sociopaths. They roll their eyes, make signs that he must be crazy, and they dismiss him. "Change must come from within," they say. "Change yourself if you want to change the world." Well, change is not coming from within, it is coming from sociopaths, and it is not at all the change we want to see in the world. It is, essentially, the triumph of evil over good. All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. Trying to change the world from within is the same thing as doing nothing.

Helen Caldicott is a medical doctor and a champion for eliminating nuclear weapons and nuclear power. If you listen carefully, you will hear echoes of Chicodoodoo in her words. Sociopaths are at the root of our problems, and they are determining our fate.

Listen to the first 8 minutes (at least) of Helen.
