Post The Deal

Background

The absolutely most boring subjects for the first half of my life were history, economics, and politics. I could only sit through one Economics 101 lecture in college before I literally raced on winged feet over to the Administration Building to transfer out of the class. In ignorant bliss, I sailed through 50 years of life, leaving the details of history, economics, and politics to my representatives in Washington. Almost everyone else around me did exactly the same, and that was a mistake of monumental proportions.

Everything changed for me about two years ago, when my insatiable curiosity planted a simple question in my brain: "How is our money created and who decides how much to create?" I quickly discovered that there was no simple answer, but I was undeterred in my research, because something happened. The world of history, economics, and politics unfolded to me in all of its striking magnificence, like a dull worm that spins a silken refuge only to emerge as a startling butterfly.

You see, "It's the economy, stupid." As that phrase is bandied about during the current political race for the presidency in 2008, its true significance is unknown to the vast majority of brainwashed Americans. It's all about the money - BIG money, in quantities that make its traditional meaning melt away to reveal its true identity - power. Without even knowing it, I had asked the right question. The answers I uncovered slowly chipped away at the deliberate blinders placed over my eyes by those who seek to control us all.

The Deal

One of the principle keys to our economic puzzle is The Deal. We are all the unwitting prisoners of The Deal, which has slowly drained our lifeblood to the point where we are little more than anorexic skin and bones. But we cannot cure ourselves until we know what ails us. Only the truth can set us free. And that, my friends, is the truth of The Deal.

In the late 60's, there was a serious domestic energy crisis - too much demand for oil, and too little supply - and some changes needed to be made to quiet the whining American public. But the real problem was a secret financial crisis in American government that threatened our very economic existence. Decades of foolish money management by the government had drained our once-mighty wealth. Massive trade deficits (buying lots of goods from nations overseas while selling them very little) had bankrupted the government. Even worse, our government regularly cheated, printing lots of new dollars in order to have money to spend. The U.S. government had always promised the world that it would exchange those dollars for gold on demand, and the crates of dollars being shipped to our door by those overseas nations was becoming a flood. Gold was flowing out of Fort Knox at a frightening rate. It was clear that the American government had printed way too much money, that there wasn't enough gold to exchange for all those dollars coming in from overseas, and that the jig was up. The U.S. government was caught with its pants down around its knees and was about to fall face-first into the mud. It was scared silly, so a desperate plan was hatched.

First, the government broke its long-standing promise to redeem its dollars in gold. President Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971, and all nations of the world were forced to follow suit. All currencies became floating, fiat currencies, backed by absolutely nothing but "good faith". Given the good faith that the U.S. government had just shown the nations of the world by breaking its promise, it is astounding that this event was so easily accepted. Evidently, faced with the nightmare of a bankrupt America, the world felt it had no choice. More likely, the central bankers of the world all saw the same opportunity to swindle the ignorant masses and further enrich themselves. But there was a second, critical piece to the desperate plan.

The energy crisis and the collapse of the gold standard had made it clear that oil was the new store of value, not gold. Henry Kissinger spent a lot of time talking with leaders of oil-producing nations around this time. A bargain was struck between the U.S. and the leaders of each oil-producing nation. In a nutshell, the agreed-upon terms were these:

  • The United States would provide a large and guaranteed market to each oil-producing nation. We promised to buy lots of their oil, make them filthy rich, and use our powerful resources to permanently keep their leaders in the seat of power in their country.
  • In return, the leaders of each oil-producing nation had to agree to accept only dollars for their oil, regardless of who buys it. In addition, a portion of their profits had to be spent buying U.S. debt. In other words, they had to use some of their oil-generated dollars to buy U.S. Treasury bonds to fund our country.

Although it seems an insignificant concession, the requirement to sell oil for dollars and only dollars is extremely important. This saved the U.S. government from total bankruptcy, because it created a global dollar hegemony that would sustain America's economic survival for the decades to follow. The Federal Reserve and the U.S. government could now accelerate their addictive habit of printing paper dollars to fund their spending habits without losing all the gold remaining in Fort Knox. More importantly, foreign banks the world over would be forced to soak up those dollars like sponges to pay for their oil needs. We could now print dollars with even greater abandon than before, without suffering the crippling effects of massive hyperinflation and economic collapse, which has been the fate of all the other nations throughout history that ever tried to create wealth using a printing press. We could have our cake and eat it too, at least for a while.

Every major oil-producing nation in the world accepted The Deal, except for two. Those two nations would become the focus of our foreign policy for decades to come. The three largest oil reserves known at the time were found respectively in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran. Saudi Arabia happily agreed to the terms of the deal and became America's new best friend and major oil supplier. Iraq and Iran, however, were the two holdouts. In an attempt to get them to play ball, our covert agencies along with our visible government began a long campaign of "persuasion", using misinformation, threats, bribery, sanctions, assassination, and war. America clandestinely orchestrated the bloody war between Iraq and Iran, and we profited nicely from weapon sales to both countries, as did central bankers working through the U.S. and other countries. When that war failed to bring them around, America invaded Iraq, twice. These wars were also secretly orchestrated, first by President George Bush Sr., and later by his son George Bush Jr., who both have extensive personal dealings with the ultra-rich Saud family that continues to rule Saudi Arabia thanks to constant U.S. government support. We are still fighting in Iraq to this day, controlling their country at gunpoint, and the Bush administration actively continues to search for avenues to provoke a war with neighboring Iran.

The Dilemma

The twists and turns to this story continue seemingly without end. In the late 70's, the largest oil field on the planet was discovered under American soil in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Enormous wealth was ours for the taking, but there was a mind-numbing dilemma. We had made The Deal. It had saved our economic lives. But if we backed out of it, it could collapse not only the American economy, but the economy of the world. How could that be? The new economy was based on oil, not gold, and we now had more oil at our disposal than any country on Earth. But to use it meant we would have to renege on The Deal. We would stop buying oil from the Saudis and the other cooperating oil exporters and use our own oil. If we did that, they would no longer have any reason to continue selling oil in dollars, or to continue funding our debt. All those dollars sitting in foreign banks (over two thirds of all dollars ever created) would no longer be needed to buy oil, so they would come flooding back into the United States looking to buy something, ANYTHING, to give them some kind of value. Hyperinflation would explode, the dollar would collapse, and the average American would be broke. Printing more dollars, the government scam of choice for the last century, would no longer work. Dollars would be worthless paper, and pandemonium would reign. Hundreds of millions of angry Americans with empty bellies is a recipe for revolution. The U.S. government was scared out of its wits, so it did what any other cornered animal would do - fight for its life! The news of the discovery of the world's largest oil field under American soil was instantly classified as secret for reasons of national security before it could leak out. The well on Gull Island was capped and never developed. A concerted campaign of propaganda was unleashed to downplay the former anticipation of ending the energy crisis with new oil from Alaska. It became absolutely essential to maintain the energy crisis to keep The Deal alive. The world-wide dollar hegemony, the busy Treasury printing presses, the unrestrained monetary power of the Federal Reserve, and the excessive spending habits of the American government had to be maintained, if the U.S. government were to continue to survive in its traditional form (by now in appearance only). The house of cards our government had built for itself had to be propped up with ever more elaborate and deceptive layers, lest the whole thing collapse in an ugly mess. At the directive of the central bankers, our government had sold our soul to the Devil, but there would be no escaping the inevitable price of the short-term rewards they had bargained for. For how much longer can the economic collapse be kept at bay? For how long will the horrible truth be repressed?

The Question

Thomas Jefferson warned all Americans over 200 years ago that this could happen.

Quote:
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." (now debunked)

In 1913, private banks got control of the issuance of our money when the Federal Reserve was unconstitutionally created, the culmination of a concerted conspiracy of greed by the moneyed elite. They also established the income tax that same year to pay the debts they intended to inflict on us by lending the money they create to our government and charging interest. For nearly 100 years, the central bankers have profited at our expense by inflating our currency and stealing our wealth. And now, if we can even be shaken from our stupor, we will wake up to find ourselves impoverished on the continent that our forefathers conquered.

In 1774, our ancestors stunned the world by revolting against the most powerful human force on the planet, the power of the mighty English empire. Years later, in 1783, our ancestors stunned the world again by winning. It took nine long years of war and suffering to throw off the chains of bondage. During that time, the country had been darkened by fear, and some of our best and bravest died, but in the end, a new country founded on freedom, equality, and justice was born. Two centuries later, we find we are once again in bondage, not to a country, but to an international cartel of moneymen. Once again, we face the most powerful human force on the planet. How will history record our time? Will the powers of oppression and control bury us, or will the desire for freedom once again find a home in our hearts? Will we dismantle the Federal Reserve and retake control of our money? Will we abolish the income tax and allow men and women to keep the rewards of their labor? Will we act?

The article below made me think of the above blog I wrote five years ago.

Word on the “street” is that there are trillions of unused, unwanted US dollars coming back to flood our markets in the next few weeks!!! Do with it what you will!

Funny… I didn’t see CNBC carry this story yet… I wonder why not…

Is this the reason the FED is going to be stopping QE? -- source

A tsunami of unwanted dollars coming home to flood our economy? Hey, I predicted that five years ago! And unlike the quoted article, I explained exactly why it would happen.

I hate it when I'm right. :(

I hate it when you're right, also ... but you're right on this one, Chico. Excellent blog article.

 I don't have the preponderance of evidence needed to identify those named individuals as bankster stooges. I'm always open to new evidence, however. Assange in particular must be getting tired of being holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy. You'd think those powerful banksters would cut him some slack, if Assange is a stooge. Don't they usually reward their stooges when they are happy with their service? They did that for Bush and Clinton. And if you don't cooperate with the banksters, they usually make your life miserable. Assange's life seems pretty miserable to me. The Swedish sex charges seem to be a set-up, the U.S. government wants him dead, and UK authorities can't wait to grab him. How do you explain that?

If Julian Assange is the banksters' stooge, then I want more of them.

Assange Statement on the First Day of Manning Trial

Monday 3rd June 2013, 22:00 GMT

Statement by Julian Assange

As I type these lines, on June 3, 2013, Private First Class Bradley Edward Manning is being tried in a sequestered room at Fort Meade, Maryland, for the alleged crime of telling the truth. The court martial of the most prominent political prisoner in modern US history has now, finally, begun.

It has been three years. Bradley Manning, then 22 years old, was arrested in Baghdad on May 26, 2010. He was shipped to Kuwait, placed into a cage, and kept in the sweltering heat of Camp Arifjan.

"For me, I stopped keeping track," he told the court last November. "I didn’t know whether night was day or day was night. And my world became very, very small. It became these cages... I remember thinking I’m going to die."

After protests from his lawyers, Bradley Manning was then transferred to a brig at a US Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA, where - infamously - he was subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment at the hands of his captors - a formal finding by the UN. Isolated in a tiny cell for twenty-three out of twenty-four hours a day, he was deprived of his glasses, sleep, blankets and clothes, and prevented from exercising. All of this - it has been determined by a military judge - "punished" him before he had even stood trial.

"Brad’s treatment at Quantico will forever be etched, I believe, in our nation’s history, as a disgraceful moment in time" said his lawyer, David Coombs. "Not only was it stupid and counterproductive, it was criminal."

The United States was, in theory, a nation of laws. But it is no longer a nation of laws for Bradley Manning.

When the abuse of Bradley Manning became a scandal reaching all the way to the President of the United States and Hillary Clinton’s spokesman resigned to register his dissent over Mr. Manning’s treatment, an attempt was made to make the problem less visible. Bradley Manning was transferred to the Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

He has waited in prison for three years for a trial - 986 days longer than the legal maximum - because for three years the prosecution has dragged its feet and obstructed the court, denied the defense access to evidence and abused official secrecy. This is simply illegal - all defendants are constitutionally entitled to a speedy trial - but the transgression has been acknowledged and then overlooked.

Against all of this, it would be tempting to look on the eventual commencement of his trial as a mercy. But that is hard to do.

We no longer need to comprehend the "Kafkaesque" through the lens of fiction or allegory. It has left the pages and lives among us, stalking our best and brightest. It is fair to call what is happening to Bradley Manning a "show trial". Those invested in what is called the "US military justice system" feel obliged to defend what is going on, but the rest of us are free to describe this travesty for what it is. No serious commentator has any confidence in a benign outcome. The pretrial hearings have comprehensively eliminated any meaningful uncertainty, inflicting pre-emptive bans on every defense argument that had any chance of success.

Bradley Manning may not give evidence as to his stated intent (exposing war crimes and their context), nor may he present any witness or document that shows that no harm resulted from his actions. Imagine you were put on trial for murder. In Bradley Manning’s court, you would be banned from showing that it was a matter of self-defence, because any argument or evidence as to intent is banned. You would not be able to show that the ’victim’ is, in fact, still alive, because that would be evidence as to the lack of harm.

But of course. Did you forget whose show it is?

The government has prepared for a good show. The trial is to proceed for twelve straight weeks: a fully choreographed extravaganza, with a 141-strong cast of prosecution witnesses. The defense was denied permission to call all but a handful of witnesses. Three weeks ago, in closed session, the court actually held a rehearsal. Even experts on military law have called this unprecedented.

Bradley Manning’s conviction is already written into the script. The commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces, Barack Obama, spoiled the plot for all of us when he pronounced Bradley Manning guilty two years ago. "He broke the law," President Obama stated, when asked on camera at a fundraiser about his position on Mr. Manning. In a civilized society, such a prejudicial statement alone would have resulted in a mistrial.

To convict Bradley Manning, it will be necessary for the US government to conceal crucial parts of his trial. Key portions of the trial are to be conducted in secrecy: 24 prosecution witnesses will give secret testimony in closed session, permitting the judge to claim that secret evidence justifies her decision. But closed justice is no justice at all.

What cannot be shrouded in secrecy will be hidden through obfuscation. The remote situation of the courtroom, the arbitrary and discretionary restrictions on access for journalists, and the deliberate complexity and scale of the case are all designed to drive fact-hungry reporters into the arms of official military PR men, who mill around the Fort Meade press room like over-eager sales assistants. The management of Bradley Manning’s case will not stop at the limits of the courtroom. It has already been revealed that the Pentagon is closely monitoring press coverage and social media discussions on the case.

This is not justice; never could this be justice. The verdict was ordained long ago. Its function is not to determine questions such as guilt or innocence, or truth or falsehood. It is a public relations exercise, designed to provide the government with an alibi for posterity. It is a show of wasteful vengeance; a theatrical warning to people of conscience.

The alleged act in respect of which Bradley Manning is charged is an act of great conscience - the single most important disclosure of subjugated history, ever. There is not a political system anywhere on the earth that has not seen light as a result. In court, in February, Bradley Manning said that he wanted to expose injustice, and to provoke worldwide debate and reform. Bradley Manning is accused of being a whistleblower, a good man, who cared for others and who followed higher orders. Bradley Manning is effectively accused of conspiracy to commit journalism.

But this is not the language the prosecution uses. The most serious charge against Bradley Manning is that he "aided the enemy" - a capital offence that should require the greatest gravity, but here the US government laughs at the world, to breathe life into a phantom. The government argues that Bradley Manning communicated with a media organisation, WikiLeaks, who communicated to the public. It also argues that al-Qaeda (who else) is a member of the public. Hence, it argues that Bradley Manning communicated "indirectly" with al-Qaeda, a formally declared US "enemy", and therefore that Bradley Manning communicated with "the enemy".

But what about "aiding" in that most serious charge, "aiding the enemy"? Don’t forget that this is a show trial. The court has banned any evidence of intent. The court has banned any evidence of the outcome, the lack of harm, the lack of any victim. It has ruled that the government doesn’t need to show that any "aiding" occurred and the prosecution doesn’t claim it did. The judge has stated that it is enough for the prosecution to show that al-Qaeda, like the rest of the world, reads WikiLeaks.

“Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people," wrote John Adams, "who have a right and a desire to know.”

When communicating with the press is "aiding the enemy" it is the "general knowledge among the people" itself which has become criminal. Just as Bradley Manning is condemned, so too is that spirit of liberty in which America was founded.

In the end it is not Bradley Manning who is on trial. His trial ended long ago. The defendent now, and for the next 12 weeks, is the United States. A runaway military, whose misdeeds have been laid bare, and a secretive government at war with the public. They sit in the docks. We are called to serve as jurists. We must not turn away.

Free Bradley Manning.

Post Re: The Deal
Here's the same story of the petrodollar that I blogged about so long ago, only this time we get Brother Nathanael's perspective.

It would appear that word of the petrodollar scam is getting out. Naturally, this comes on the eve of the dollar's collapse, a bit too late to punish the guilty. Or maybe not! Kissinger is still alive, and so is George H. W. Bush, and a host of other conspirators in the plot to bleed the dollar. Heck, the primary weapon of the international banksters, the Federal Reserve, is still in business, when it should be in prison!

I love the clip of Nixon announcing in 1971 his intention to "defend the dollar against the speculators." What a criminal liar! This was followed by the next big lie, that the U.S. would "suspend temporarily the convertibility of the dollar into gold." Temporarily, my ass! If only Nixon's nose grew a centimeter longer with each lie, we would have seen through his treachery, the same treachery all subsequent American presidents have practiced, including the current puppet-in-chief, Barry "Obama" Soetoro. Traitors every one!

But we thought Nixon was an honorable man working in the best interests of all Americans. And we thought the same thing for each subsequent president. Those sociopaths sure know how to dupe the American public, don't they.

I almost posted this under "How they fool us" or "Things they don't tell us", and it would certainly fit in either of those threads, but this topic is also a major part of "The Deal".

Because important videos have a bad habit of disappearing from YouTube (Yes, Virginia, there is censorship), I am including a rough, abbreviated transcript of the video as well, so that the information does not get squelched.

For much more info, search the Internet for "abiotic oil" or "abiogenic oil".

Quote:
Petroleum is NOT what we thought it was . . . Petroleum is NOT a fossil fuel and did not come from dead dinosaurs . . .

When they first found petroleum, they needed it for motors and axles for railroad trains and those sort of things. Trains started in the beginning of the 19th century and then oil went from just a lubricant to a fuel and that made it valuable. Rockefeller happened to be the smartest in the business at the time, and he made most of his money off the transport of petroleum as well as selling it. But one thing they realized was that putting a price on oil is like putting a price on a pail of water, because there is NO initial cost -- the oil is in the ground. In those days, they were surface mining the petroleum; they did not go down deep. So in order to get the price up, they hit on the idea they would have to make it appear to be scarce. In other words, after they take the next few barrels out, they would probably have to close the well. In 1892, there was a convention in Geneva of scientists to determine what organic substances are. The definition of organic is a substance with hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon, and so it's usually a living substance like a tree, etc. You analyze a dead tree - hydrogen, oxygen and carbon and grass and so on - living things are oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. So at this Geneva convention, Rockefeller took advantage of sending some scientists over who said "oil - petroleum - is hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon". Therefore it must be derived from the rotting of formerly living matter. And playing the game properly, the scientists defined oil as a residue of formerly living matter.

Well, that said - that makes it a fossil fuel. It was not certain why they called it fossil, but fossils are formerly living matter. And of course today, there has never been a fossil found below 16,000 feet. You can't argue that. 16,000 feet is roughly a level line because some places rise and sink.

But 16,000 feet is what the scientists say fossils are not found below. We drill for oil at 33,000, 28,000, 30,000 feet everyday of the week. Right there we rule out that petroleum it is not fossil fuel. It's called fossil fuel for the minds of the public to feel that it is an asset that is running out, being depleted, so they get a "depletion allowance". Actually, if you know the world's oil supply, you know it is not going to run out for an awfully long time. Oil is the second most prevalent liquid on Earth. With all this background, the people in charge of the petroleum business, for perfectly reasonable business goals, just like any other business, want to keep the prices as high as can be gotten away with. And the way to do that is to say "there's no more", the last barrel will cost $1,000, and then it's all gone. They preach this false reality. In geology books, this information is explained. Many Geologists say that petroleum is a fossil fuel, somehow have been bought and sold out to the deliberate misinformation scheme. I (Col. Fletcher Prouty) went to a four year federal staff energy seminar run by the government of the United States during the so called energy crisis. I was the participant that represented the railroad industry. The airline industry was there, every AA (Administrative Assistant) of every Congressmen was there, the CIA, the Defense Department, the State Department. Sometimes, sitting right in front of me was Kissinger and Schlesinger (the head of the Department of Defense), top men in the government sitting there listening to the federal energy staff seminar. Well, what this was doing was for four years, they were teaching a propaganda line to the leading people in this country and therefore the leading people in the World. The object of this was, as Kissinger used in his own terms, to create a world price for oil. In other words not 30 cents a gallon here and 90 cents a gallon there, lets get a world price. That was their goal and they were planning to do this for wheat and everything else. We don't realize what the controls are, whether it's oil or other things. Everything today is being categorized at the highest price they can possibly create. And so calling petroleum a fossil fuel is the basis for this system with respect to petroleum.

All this started from that strange meeting in Genova in 1892. This is not accidental, there is a dollar sign behind almost everything.
