Re: What is the meaning of life?
Good answer, and if I may take it a step further, I would conclude that even those who do want to find truth may not want to "accept" it. We think of truth like 9/11 truth, and there is certainly much to all of that, but when truth about the affairs of our cultures is only the beginnings of figuring out TRUTH.
Here are three truths about some "truths" we hold:
Secularization (meaning the transformation of a society from close identification with religious values and institutions toward non-religious (or "irreligious") values and secular institutions) only ends up providing us with
no real shame.
Relativism (meaning the concept that points of view have no absolute truth or validity, having only relative, subjective value according to differences in perception and consideration) merely ends up providing us with
no real reason.
Privatization(meaning you make your beliefs private and thus are not intended for universal application) ends up providing us with
no real meaning, as we can't legislate beliefs for others.
That doesn't leave us with much to work with when it comes to TRUTH and the requirement for meaning of life.
