Post Doping
How far does the rabbit hole go ?

Now that Lance Pharmastong looks to be more and more guilty I am beginning to wonder how much more we will begin to find out? EPO and testosterone are apparently not detectable after more than 48 hours but the effects carry on for sometime. Now if we look at footballers for example, they run 10km per match at quite a pace and sometime have 3 matches a week. Recovery time is short. The doping scandle mainly points towards cycling and atheletics. Is it becuase there is a lot more money in football which means more protection of profits and more secrecy ? Alberto Leon was found dead from a supposed suicide after a doping probe investigation in Spain. Was he murdered ? Footballers are droping dead with heart failures is it related to doping ? Something that is undetectable how can it be proven ? I wonder whether we will oneday no some truth when it seems so hard ?

To gain an advantage in any competition is a natural consequence of the desire to win. You are essentially asking to what lengths will a human go to ensure triumph? The answer varies with the individual, of course, but in general, some humans will go to great lengths to seek an advantage. I am reminded of the recent summer Olympics, where I saw many people willing to dedicate major portions of their lives to being the best at one incredibly narrow activity, like strictly defined and rapid movements in a liquid medium (such as the 100 meter butterfly stroke). It's insane, and yet we celebrate it with wild enthusiasm and reward it with absurd accolades!

So how deep can the rabbit hole go? How far can one dig before hitting lava?

30ft Armstrong effigy to be burned on ‘Guy Fawkes’ bonfire night in UK town

A 30-feet effigy of disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong wearing a ‘Jim’ll Fix It’ badge will be burned on ‘Guy Fawkes’ day in a UK town’s bonfire celebrations this weekend, according to a report.

A steel-framed model of the 41-year-old American, who was recently stripped of his seven Tour de France titles for doping offences, will go up in flames in Edenbridge, Kent.

The effigy has Armstrong holding a sign saying “For sale, racing bike, no longer required” and with a Jim’ll Fix It badge round his neck in reference to late TV presenter Jimmy Savile being suspected of widespread child abuse, the Daily Mirror reports.

According to the report, the figure will be stuffed with oil-soaked newspapers, packed with fireworks and torched in front of thousands of Britons.

Bonfire Society members said it was not easy to choose Armstrong, who was stripped of all his victories from August 1998 on the recommendation of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and banned from cycling for life, the report said.
