Post Re: The wealth gap
Quote:
The wealth of the 8 richest people on earth equals that of the poorest 3.6 billion, according to a report by Oxfam presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This vast wealth gap is a threat which may “pull our societies apart,” the report warned.

The list of the eight wealthiest individuals in the world, all men, comes from Forbes magazine’s billionaires list, and includes Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. -- source

This is a deception. The Forbes billionaire list doesn't take into account the trillionaires, who are not individuals but family cartels. I have pointed out in the past that while Bill Gates may have accumulated 0.056 trillion dollars of wealth, the Rockefellers control $20 trillion, and the Rothschilds control $200 trillion.

You would need 3571 fortunes the size of Bill Gates' accumulated wealth to match the wealth of the Rothschild dynasty. That's why the Rothschilds effectively run the world, not the measly billionaires on the Forbes "richest" list.

Ironically, the 2017 Oxfam report bases its new conclusions on the "fact" that the poor are poorer than they traditionally calculated:

Quote:
New and better data on the distribution of global wealth – particularly in India and China – indicates that the poorest half of the world has less wealth than had been previously thought. Had this new data been available last year, it would have shown that nine billionaires owned the same wealth as the poorest half of the planet, and not 62, as Oxfam calculated at the time. -- source

So Oxfam has another and even bigger error that they are making, probably knowingly, by ignoring just how rich the rich are when you include the family cartels like the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds.

Even information about the obscene planetary wealth gap is being deceptively understated. Sociopaths -- who knew?

Post Re: The wealth gap
The same program used on 1920s Germany -- destruction of the currency via inflation, elimination of the middle class, massive unemployment, the undermining of moral values via pornography, the infiltration of the education system, control of the mainstream media, the false dichotomy of the political parties, the weakening of family cohesiveness -- is being used to destroy the United States of America. Will a good Samaritan with solid principals like Adolf Hitler rise up to save us? Not this time. The Jewish sociopaths won't make that mistake again. Money is now the measure of everything, just like the Jewish sociopaths want it, with the power of money decidedly in the hands of the ruling elite. No surprises this time; America is going down.

Post Re: The wealth gap
According to an Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) report titled “Billionaire Bonanza 2017,” America’s 400 richest individuals have more total wealth than the nation’s bottom 64%.

The three richest billionaires are wealthier than the bottom 50%. The bottom 1% of Americans have a negative net worth of $196 billion. The top 1% has a combined net worth of $33.4 trillion.

Shocking stuff! It happened by design, not accident - neoliberal harshness for most Americans, near-zero interest rates and trillions of dollars of money printing madness by the Wall Street owned and controlled Fed, near-free money, making super-rich Americans far richer.

Transferring wealth from most Americans to wealthy elites has been going on for years, a deliberate scheme to concentrate it in the hands of the nation’s privileged class at the expense of most others.

Who knew?

Well, we did. Read this thread.

I note that the video in the prior post has already been censored, and I posted it just a few days ago! It seems someone wants the answer to "Who knew?" to be "No one."

I located another copy of the video on YouTube, and clicked on the play button. "This video has been removed for violating Youtube's policy on hate speech." Translation: someone is criticizing Jews. A third copy I found did play, but I bet it won't last long. Such is the power of Jews in this world. I listened to the video again, and there is no "hate speech" anywhere in this video. It is nothing but observing the facts. To me, it is clear that YouTube is committing a hate crime by censoring the truth expressed in this video. And I was just posting about the outrageous censorship YouTube exercises over the entire nation of France, and Germany! YouTube has violated the supreme law of the land, the Constitution of the United States, specifically the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of speech, by censoring this video in the United States. YouTube (owned by Google) should be brought to justice and punished, but it won't be, because powerful Jews own it. Pointing out their crimes is "hate speech", doncha know...

Quote:
Amazon didn’t pay any taxes on its $5.6 billion in earnings last year.

According to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP), Amazon won’t be paying taxes for 2017 because of tax credits, tax breaks, and executive stock options. The ITEP report says this follows a trend of Amazon paying almost no taxes over the past five years. -- source

But any ordinary middle-class American citizen earning over 10,000 times less wouldn't be able to get away with paying no tax! How is it possible a huge corporation earning huge profits can get away with paying no tax?

Obviously, the income tax laws are unfair, written to benefit the wealthy at the expense of the ordinary wage earner. In fact, when the income tax laws were first enacted in 1913, only the ultra-wealthy paid income tax, while 98% of the population paid no income tax at all! Do you notice how the opposite is true now?

Quote:
Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com founder and CEO) is currently ranked as the richest person in the world, according to a list by Bloomberg. Just behind him are Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Mark Zuckerberg, respectively. -- source

Bezos is practically penniless compared to the Rockefeller family, whose fortune is 200 times larger in comparison, while the Rothschild family fortune is 2000 times larger. Talk about a wealth gap! Yet even though Bezos is a pauper compared to these two ultra-rich families, he is over a 1,000,000 times richer than the average American wage earner!

The magnitude of the wealth gap is truly mind-boggling and makes a mockery of the meaning of the word "fairness".

And remember this:

Quote:
As evidence, they cite a 2017 Oxfam report that reveals the eight richest people in the world own as much as the 3.6 billion poorest. -- source

Do the math, if you can. My computer calculator cannot calculate 8 divided by 3.6 billion — it thinks the answer is zero, when it is actually 0.00000000222. So less than one millionth of 1% of humanity owns as much as the poorest half of humanity.

Wealthy sociopaths are the only people who would find this situation perfectly acceptable, because they don't care about other people.

Post Re: The wealth gap
Wealth, or monetary success, is much more a consequence of luck than of talent, says a new scientific study.

Quote:
The scientists created what they called an agent-based computer model. A large number of individual people were plotted into a confined “world”. Each of the people was allocated a certain quantity of talent – and this amount didn’t change throughout the subsequent experiment.

Each was also allotted an amount of money (or, more precisely, capital). Every person began with the same amount. However, this could change depending on what happened when the model was running.

The researchers them introduced a certain number of randomly distributed bits of “luck”, some of it good and some of it bad. The luck and the people then circulated in the world – covering a time period equivalent to 40 years. If a person encountered a bit of bad luck, the capital was halved. If the encounter involved good luck, capital doubled. (Talent, remember, never changed.)

Pluchino and his colleagues ran the model multiple times, with several variations, but the results were pretty much always the same.

“The most successful agents are almost never the most talented ones,” they report, “but those around the average of the … talent distribution”.

The outcome, they add, shows the importance of lucky events in determining the shape and success of life – and how frequently that influence is underestimated or dismissed. -- source

Sociopaths, because of their narcissism and superiority complexes, will always attribute their accumulation of wealth and power to their own personal skills and perceived superiority. Though the study suggests luck is the dominate reason, it assumes everyone plays by the same rules. They don't. I suspect the real reason sociopaths rise to the top is their proclivity to cheat via deception and manipulation.

Post Re: The wealth gap
What could be done to better fund Social Security now? Well, as I noted above, the best solution would be to end the US policy, since the end of World War II, of endless wars and massive unprecedentedly huge military budgets and after slashing personal taxes, apply some of the rest of the eliminated military taxes to better funding Social Security, and to financing a conversion of Medicare into a Health Care for All insurance program that would eliminate the need for Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Health Care, charity care, private insurance premiums, employer health plans, etc. The savings from doing that would be extraordinary. For good measure and to help raise Social Security benefits so people wouldn't have to bet on stock markets with their IRA and 401(k) plans, we could also eliminate the cap on income subject to FICA taxation and tax all income -- including investment income -- and by adding a tax on short-term stock trading.

Heck, we can make this really simple. Just tax the wealthy at whatever percentage is needed to restore Social Security to full health. We can define the wealthy as anyone making more than one million dollars per year. Slap a 33% FICA tax on them. Include corporations as well, since corporations are considered legal persons by the corrupt judicial system. Social Security would be rolling in the dough in no time. Every working person could have a comfortable retirement and paid medical care. America would suddenly have the best social care system in the world. And perhaps the wealth gap could be whittled down to a less obscene measure while providing a highly positive social benefit to the vast majority of Americans!

The wealthy will hate the new tax, but they will still be wealthy. Their lives won't change one bit. The American workers, however, will love the new tax, because they won't be paying it, and their lives at retirement will change dramatically for the better. They won't be poor anymore when their income stops at retirement.

The wealthy have always taken advantage of the workers, which is why the enormous wealth gap exists. Why not let the retired workers catch up a bit after they have put in their time working for a living?

An opposing view by Philip Moeller can be read here. "Philip Moeller is an expert on retirement, aging and health." His suggestion?

So if you believe that wealthy people should pay higher taxes, change the tax code. Don’t look to Social Security to do this work for you.

Some expert. Only the wealthy have the means to change the tax code. They have the wealth to influence and bribe Congress. That's why tax rates for the wealthy have fallen so dramatically since the income tax was initiated (by the wealthy) in 1913, while tax rates for the middle class have risen so dramatically. The wealthy have plenty of ways to avoid taxes, while the workers have almost none. And how did that happen? The wealthy got all those tax changes pushed through Congress, of course!

Post Re: The wealth gap
The ratio of CEO to worker pay now averages 339 to 1, with the highest gap approaching 5,000 to 1.

In the opening post of this thread, I suggested a 50 to 1 ratio would be far more healthy for us all. In the second post of this thread, I pointed out that Google's CEO had a ratio of 6234 to 1.

Regardless of the exact figures, the wealth gap is the most visible symptom of the financial cancer that is quietly killing us. Capitalism is a deadly disease, which we have been brainwashed to defend to our dying breath.

Michael Tellinger's contributionism is a far more equitable and ethical system than capitalism, and he even proposes a way for it to work concurrently with capitalism until capitalism fails. And it will eventually fail. The only way to destroy the wealth gap is to do away with individual wealth and promote the rise in the wealth of our entire species. It is the tide that lifts all boats equally. We have to be the tide.

And we have to all be in the same boat — one that can float.

Quote:
No society should function with this level of inequality (with the possible exception of one of those prison planets in a “Star Wars” movie). Sixty-three percent of Americans can’t afford a $500 emergency. Yet Amazon head Jeff Bezos is now worth a record $141 billion. He could literally end world hunger for multiple years and still have more money left over than he could ever spend on himself.

Worldwide, one in 10 people only make $2 a day. Do you know how long it would take one of those people to make the same amount as Jeff Bezos has? 193 million years. (If they only buy single-ply toilet paper.) Put simply, you cannot comprehend the level of inequality in our current world or even just our nation. -- source

I can comprehend it. After all, this thread is about that very concept, meaning the obscene inequality of wealth on our planet.

"No society should function with this level of inequality ." Quite right. This is the inevitable result in a world run by sociopaths. It is inevitable. Sociopaths do not think in terms of equality or fairness. They think in terms of power and predation. Sociopaths are fundamentally parasites, and they feed on us.

Only identifying and managing sociopaths will solve this problem. Sociopaths must be prevented from running the world.

Post Re: The wealth gap
I recently wrote (today, actually) "A serial killer is a psychopath with an addiction to killing."

What is a psychopath with an addiction to money? How is that different from a non-sociopath with an addiction to money?

Sam Polk wrote:
In my last year on Wall Street my bonus was $3.6 million — and I was angry because it wasn’t big enough. I was 30 years old, had no children to raise, no debts to pay, no philanthropic goal in mind. I wanted more money for exactly the same reason an alcoholic needs another drink: I was addicted.

I have a feeling that sociopaths addicted to money would never walk away from Wall Street, as this particular trader did. His story is quite fascinating, and now he can look back at the trap that held him.

Sam Polk wrote:
Three weeks into my internship she wisely dumped me. I don’t like who you’ve become, she said. I couldn’t blame her, but I was so devastated that I couldn’t get out of bed.

I can tell you from experience with friends who are indeed sociopaths that being dumped by a girlfriend hardly affects them. So this fellow (Sam Polk) is not one, if his story is true.

Sam Polk wrote:
Dozens of different types of 12-step support groups — including Clutterers Anonymous and On-Line Gamers Anonymous — exist to help addicts of various types, yet there is no Wealth Addicts Anonymous. Why not? Because our culture supports and even lauds the addiction. Look at the magazine covers in any news stand, plastered with the faces of celebrities and C.E.O.'s; the super-rich are our cultural gods. I hope we all confront our part in enabling wealth addicts to exert so much influence over our country.

Sociopaths with an addiction to money are surely highly dangerous and destructive, but imagine psychopaths who are addicted to power. These would be our ruling sociopaths.
