US President Barack Obama on Saturday urged to limit access to firearms after a shooting at the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado claimed three lives overnight.

"If we truly care about this — if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience — then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough," Obama said in a statement released by the White House. -- source

As the furor over Megyn Kelly's upcoming interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones continued to broil online, NBC execs are reportedly panicking over the negative publicity.

They spent the whole of Monday in crisis meetings to work out how to handle the backlash from parents angry that Kelly has given a platform for Jones' ludicrous claims - including that the Sandy Hook shootings were faked.

"I find Alex Jones's suggestion that Sandy Hook was "a hoax" as personally revolting as every other rational person does," she said.

"It left me, and many other Americans, asking the very question that prompted this interview: how does Jones, who traffics in these outrageous conspiracy theories, have the respect of the president of the United States and a growing audience of millions?" -- source

Tell Republicans in Congress:

"It is time to put your constituents before the National Rifle Association. Reject currently pending legislation that would gut regulations on gun silencers and armor piercing bullets, block the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, and take immediate action to ban weapons of war, including assault weapons and large capacity magazines, which have no place in the hands of private citizens.”

Last night in Las Vegas, a lone gunmen rained gunfire down on a country music concert, killing more than 50 people and sending more than 400 to the hospital. It was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

Republicans in Congress – who have fought for years to block any legislation that would protect Americans from gun violence – were quick to offer their “thoughts and prayers” in response. But thoughts and prayers are not enough to keep weapons of war out of dangerous hands and begin to address our country’s horrific gun violence epidemic.
