Restitions on members self editing
Should there be restrictions on members ability to self edit?
In my opinion there should be! a time limit for editing posts should be 24hrs, thus giving a member sufficient time to review his/her post for typo's or for adding content. Beyond that editing could be done by request to the Admin.
At another forum I witnessed a member delete dozens of posts made over a period of more than a month, this resulted in the disruption of several threads where the context was thrown into disarray due to these missing posts.

Re: Restitions on members self editing
Good point, Andy. Unless there are serious objections, I will set the user ability to edit or delete personal posts to 30 hours.

Could certain posts be free from this rule. I am trying to clean up the Lotus thread and give it more context. Its laboursome so it takes time. Thanks....

It's all or none, unfortunately. How much time do you need?

Obviously people are going to change their minds on some issue and opinion.
Is it possible if an edit has been made or need to be made, that a note of the edit is made on the post page.
EG.....EDIT was made on 3.5.12
and the poster can continue on re-addressing the issue or opinion.,whilst the original post remains unchanged.

Re: Restitions on members self editing
As currently set up, you can edit any of your posts multiple times within a one week period. There is a field below the edit window where you can optionally specify the reason for the edit, if you want. I believe that automatically places a time stamp in with the reason for editing.
After one week, just open another post.
