My apologies, might have been the wording: 83% of the matter in the Universe comprised of the stuff and "they were baffled when they failed to spot something invisible."

Just sounded like an Onion spoof! It's how my mind works. I should go read the story before commenting.

There is a lining of dark humor in the post, but thanks for clearing it up.

Not sure how long the Dark Matter theory will keep going. It will be interesting to see what theory does spring forth.

Could it be that science today is only slightly more advanced than science 1000 years ago, and just as then, we think we know what we are talking about, but we really don't?
