Post Re: May 1st General Strike
Hi A Nony Mouse,

I think you just mentioned any day of the week.

Don't these things happen on a 'normal' day too?

Did the Chinese man set himself ablaze on purpose or was it an accident? Was he protesting May Day? I didn't understand that part.

Best regards.

It's good to hear you yourself are self-employed, and will be home on holiday doing nothing on May 1st.

People on holiday in my magical land still drive around town and purchase gas and lotto tickets, grab a $5 vente latte at Starbucks, eat out, go to the casino or the ski hill or Disneyland, or the theater or the movies.

They drink and drive and have road accidents on holidays, They even kill people in those vehicles while driving drunk on holidays. Those are the very worst days for emergency workers. Holidays.

People also experience heart attacks or strokes or hurt themselves while pottering around the garden on Holidays, and need to call an ambulance and be attended to quickly by emergency workers.

Or their barbeques blow up and they catch the house or themselves on fire.

Or set themselves ablaze and run through the streets of Chinese markets while onlookers pay them little mind and do nothing to assist.

They take plenty of cell phone pictures though. Even in China everyone but me seems to have a cell phone.

This is one of the least awful pictures people took.

This is one of the very worst ones that an onlooker took.

This is how this Tibetan father of 3 used to look.

Yes, these things all happen any day of the week, however I was specifically addressing your original comment to my OP, regarding May 1st being a "holiday" where, in your country, "people don't go to work".

My point was that even if May 1st is a holiday in my country which it's not, people who are not self-employed or working in the afore mentioned sectors do indeed go to work. Perhaps it's different in your country.

Are you fucking with me Grumplebum? I don't have time for your silly queries if you're a bored and self-employed person messing around on forums for the entertainment value or trolling for a relationship. 1,600 pages? Oh my.

I also don't have time to look up news stories for you but that said:

Here's the story: This father of 3 died in protest of the Chinese Government.

I hope I have clarified your confusion. Somewhat. It feels like you and I are speaking different languages Mr. Bum. And have different agendas on this board.

Back to the subject matter which holds your interest here at United People. No need to reply as it will probably be another bait-the-mousetrap post and only serve to derail my thread. I won't take the bait.

As you were.

Sincerely,

Mouse

Hi A Nony Mouse,

I came to this forum because it was recommended to me. I didn't seek it out. I didn't even know it existed until it was mentioned.

I think if in your country May 1st isn't a public holiday, that's too bad. Even in China it's a holiday.

Trolling for a relationship? That's the last thing I want. The more than 1600 pges of text are all the messages sent via Skype over last year and around six weeks of this. It's easy to accumulate this number of .doc pages. Try it yourself, check out someone with whom you have chatted to on Skype for some time and you will see there are a lot of pages. It's suprising but true.

If the Chinese guy (if it was that guy) set himself on fire, I wouldn't put him out either and he couldn't have been protesting about May Day because they have a holiday there. I just didn't understand why you tacked that on to the May Day protest thread that's all.

My personal agenda here, now that I am here, is to discuss topics that grab my atention, take them apart, sometimes play devils advocate to try and get other points of view. Nothing more, nothing less.

Best regards.

It's been suggested in several areas that you do more than just play devil's advocate on these boards Mr. Bum but the jury is still out on this. Don't test my patience playing your devil's advocate games with me. I don't have much of that commodity left.

That's my last public word to you on this forum.

Sincerely,

Mouse

What has been suggested and who is on the jury? Surely a condemned man has the right to know the charges put and by whom.
