Sorry, my explanation is probably poor.

Look at any post in this thread. At the top of the post, it says "Re: How to link to a post". Just to the left, preceding the "Re:", there is a tiny circle with a tiny triangle in it (assuming you are using the default Hestia Blue style). That's the symbol you right-click on, and then choose "Copy Link Location". That link location is the direct URL to that specific post. That's what you paste into a URL tag.

Problems is, I have a mac with no right click available on its mouse. So when I click it, it appears to just refresh the page, with no apparent change.

I'm thinking the internet search engines can answer that question.
