Re: How to insert YouTube videos in a post
A new alternative to YouTube is
Before It's News Video. It claims that
it does not censor! YouTube censors videos all the time, unfortunately. There are many YouTube videos that have been posted in the forum that later disappear. I try to fix the "dead" videos whenever I run across them, which is way too often for my taste. So in the hopes that Before It's News Video will indeed refuse to censor controversial videos, I am adding support to the forum for embedding their videos.
The new tag is called "binvid" and gives us a fourth option for including videos in our posts.
- youtube -- tag for adding YouTube videos in a post
- vimeo -- tag for adding Vimeo videos in a post
- video -- tag for adding a stand-alone video format file type (*.mp4, *.oog) in a post
- binvid -- tag for adding Before It's News videos in a post
The binvid tag works pretty much like the youtube and vimeo tags. You just add the video ID between the opening and closing tags, like this:
{binvid}3d92a8931{/binvid}
Only instead of the curly brackets, you will use the square brackets "[" and "]". Here is how the above example will display when the square brackets are used.
Proof Obama is a Traitor
I added the title (Proof Obama is a Traitor) myself as text, so if the video ever gets censored, we will still know the title of the video to perhaps locate another copy somewhere on the Internet. That's something I have learned to do from my experiences with "dead" videos in forum posts. It's a useful precaution.
