Paul Craig Roberts understands the tyranny of the currently developing police state in the United States.

Just as in Hitler's Nazi Germany, the citizens must be disarmed for the tyranny to be complete. A disarmed population has no means to resist the authority of a well-armed state. Ultimately, when push comes to shove, the only way to resist force is with force.

Distraction is a major tool in the hands of the sociopaths. They get us to worry about the little stuff and ignore the big stuff. For example, they focus everyone on the insignificant "fiscal cliff" so that no one worries about the real fiscal black hole waiting to suck everything into oblivion. That's part of mind controlling the masses - only let them see what you want them to see.

So just what are the ruling elite going to do? Bring the USA to its knees, or bring the western nations into the folds of the U.S. dollar hegemony? I think they will bring the western nations into the U.S. fold and then collapse the dollar, bringing the entire western world to its knees (the Problem). The western world will panic and cry out for relief (the Reaction). A new One World currency will be issued, backed by gold and other assets the ruling elite now possess in abundance, having stolen them clandestinely from the people (the Solution). The theft is forgotten, the loot is laundered, and most importantly, the monopoly of power and control is strengthened.

In a society where ruling sociopaths control massive systems (government, media, education, military, money, etc.) that brainwash everyone from birth, the miracle is that some people are able to grow a conscience at all! Did you really expect people to have fully developed consciences at birth, or that all of those systems directed by the worst among us would actually help develop our consciences for the betterment of all?

The brainwashed among us will be trained to believe exactly that, that all of these systems are in place to help us develop better consciences, when it fact that is just an elaborate deception put in place to manipulate us into serving the interests of the ruling sociopaths. So you condemn Paul Craig Roberts for eventually breaking out of the Matrix and into reality, where he is willing to take unselfish action and blow the whistle as a wake-up call for his fellow humans?

I read one of those books, specifically A People’s History of The United States by Howard Zinn, and Paul Craig Roberts is right -- I will never believe in the righteousness of the Washington DC group again. They are literally a band of crooks.
