How do we educate our children?

Post Re: How do we educate our children?
I agree we are failing our children BIG TIME. Children learn the important stuff which they build all else upon by EXAMPLE. Society has made it so even the best parents have had to try and keep up with the "times", and in doing so, the children were often put on the back burner. Social influences have only aided in taking children further away from the parent.

Why aren't there millions of really ticked off parents marching against the culture we have been led to believe in? We who are are parents are having a very difficult time trying to see a future; well, our children have NO FUTURE WHATSOEVER!!!!

We live in a time where making "sense" of things requires the utmost questioning and seriousness of thought. There have to be ANSWERS to the dilemma we are confronted with.

Well the simple truth is Parents and this dynamic in general, Dont give a fuck. Let the Nanny or experts take care of the problem. I just want to use the Feel Good parts and discard the rest. Sound Familiar? So in one sense, people are breeding to make themselves feel good, to satisfy an innate urge only to be perpetuating a psychopathic system to our species.

Its a burden I would not want to bear. The poor child could suffer a nervous breakdown under the Peer Pressure of the programming in society. Home schooling with a stay at home parent is your best bet. But then again the system requires everyone to work full time, suck up their patience and their mind from attending to things that matter.

Hi Magamud,

They tend to 'have you at hello' as they place their little developing hearts into your safe care. Vulnerable little bundles of love that completely rely on you for their continued existence and I believe the vast majority of parents desperately want to nourish and protect them. It's an awesome and terrifying ride.

Truth seeking is natural for children and I tend to follow the enquiries of my child but it is necessary to give it in small, age appropriate, doses or they will, as you quite rightly point out, suffer a nervous breakdown :? The important thing I believe is that they continue to ask questions and not get shut down. There-in lies the problem, imo. Home schooling is possibly the best way ahead, but I'm not quite convinced. My child's alternative education system is based within a mainstream school, which has it's benefits. He socialises with a wide variety of children and participates in other school wide activities so get's a chance to flex his muscles and learn how to navigate play ground antics.

I'm a stay at home parent and are surrounded by many, although probably because, as a group, we are interested in the education of our children anyway. Although, I notice there are many pockets of parents involved in education outside of the mainstream. So all is not lost. I'm keeping the faith..

Yes, most families are forced into having both parents working. The programming has worked a treat, hasn't it :!:

Because they have been programmed not to and when you do protest you are humiliated and retreat back into your hole. Sadly, and I really do find this sad, the numbers aren't there. Unbelievably, it's still not bad enough to get game changing numbers out there. You have to be a very strong charactor to actually improve anything, even in a small way, at this point...it's all so completely controlled and manipulated. Horrific I know, so not the best avenue for your energy.

IMO it's better to simply withdraw where you can and create a better way, quietly, without a fuss and then those that are scared, but aware, will slowly join. I do believe this is happening around the world in education. Home schooling is really becoming popular for those that are prepared to make some sacrifices and more child centred methods are springing up globally, albeit slowly. Considering it's even harder to get these schools going, they are pushing through. That's heartening.

The only way I see mass change happening is a system collapse. Likely, banking first.

Warm wishes..

Well Lee, The system will collapse. I believe it will be this year. I just hope it collapses in stages, to give a "heads up" for those who need to get to where they need to get to. We need to think about how to make sure our children (if any) will be with us and where we need to be...cause I am sure it won't be pretty. :o Sometimes a field must be burned to get rid of the "weeds".

Turning off the TV is sufficient. No need to throw it out the window. I would suggest placing an ad on craigslist offering a free TV, but that would just ensnare another unprepared mind.

On reflection, we are going to have a disposal problem on our hands with regards to TVs.

In reality, it is not the TV that is the problem. It is the people controlling the information the TV delivers to the public. Those people are sociopaths, and that's a much more complicated problem to solve.

So, perhaps our best option is to turn off the TV and throw it out the window!

Yes I agree, it's the people controlling the information that are the problem. It's not all bad where I am, we do have a few good programs. One of the biggest issue's is parents use t.v. as a babysitter and aren't nearly selective enough in what they let them watch. At the end of the day it's just a tool really and can be used for good or bad.

It's an excellent tool to teach a nine year old about propaganda.

Warm wishes..

TV IS A WEAPON. Not only the message but the frequency.

The following is part of a post from 'Blake' at Avalon (Question Thread). Whenever he mentions 'America' - I usually think of 'the Western World'.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with you that the educational system does not teach discernment, or how to flush out deception, or understand when fine-tune manipulation is being applied against us in order to control us. But public schools are much worse than that, in my opinion. Did you ever read Charlotte Iserbyts well documented book, "The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America", or watched any of her interviews? If you have, then you must be familiar what the Department of Education was used for. When the Department of Education was formed, public school became a tool against freedom, and liberty, and all that America represented. The school system was revised to control the thinking and behavior of the new generations to the benefit of the “elite and make it easier for the “elite” to rape the wealth and freedom of the nation, and it looks like they accomplished their goal. But where were the parents and grandparents when they were doing this to our children? Is that why home schooling started to become popular thirty or so years ago? Could it be that some parents were thinking about the unhealthy control the schools were having on their children’s thinking and welfare?

So as the years went by with the Department of Education now controlling all local schools with the carrots of grants and funding. It is true, as you suggested, that it became more challenging for the average American to know what liberty was and how to maintain it. And yet, Ron Paul, and many other not as public, had spent hours and years of their life talking about liberty and honest money. But mostly it fell on deaf ears.

This at a time when America went off the gold standard, and the bankers went into high gear of retraining the thinking of the masses, with the goal of putting several credit cards in every pocket, teaching them to forget about cash, and everything that cash represented. Why bother to think about money and responsibility when the banks were marketing a credit card in every pocket, retraining how they wanted people to spend their money. and, of course, they worked their way to putting a credit card in every college freshman hands, and eventually that of your children’s. Remember those days?

The banks wanted people to could forget about cash, and real assets. They were told they didn’t have to learn what inflation was, because it was just too complicated. They also promoted that it was also too complicated to understand the fiat monetary system, And Americans seemed to liked being told they didn’t have to think or understand, and to just go along with it. After all, they now have some plastic that allows them to feel powerful and buy whatever they want, that is until they maxed themselves out into being perpetual debt slaves

School is good to get the basics, but eventually people need grow up and teach themselves what they need to know in order prosper in this world. Life experience is the best teacher and yet Americans didn’t learn their life lessons very well did they?

end

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is very much the story of education in New Zealand too. More and more rules are filtering into the state system than ever before. Programming children to accept authority regardless of the message being delivered.

Warm wishes..
Lee
