If you look at it from the perspective of a sociopath, as Andy does, then there is indeed a point. It's a game. Andy will arrange the game so that he wins and his opposition loses. Andy creates the game, often on the fly. Andy makes the rules, and he changes them when he deems it necessary to arrange the outcome of the game to his liking.

Of course, normal people still ask what the point is. To them, there is indeed no point. But to a sociopath, "the game" is the purpose of their existence.

It's truly incredible the difference a lack of empathy makes.

Recognizing the deception has to be taught, because it runs against our natural inclination, which is to believe everyone is like us. Sociopaths are not like us, and we have to learn how to recognize them and anticipate the destructiveness of their mindsets.

It is indeed an awesome problem.
