More than seven decades on from the Allied bombing, one of the event’s survivors, a former paratrooper, describes the late night blitz as “more than” a war crime. Victor Gregg says the events left him psychologically scarred, contributing to “50 years of traumatic stress.”

After being captured at Arnhem in the Netherlands, Gregg was one of the few Allied troops on the ground during the bombing of Dresden.

To escape being crushed by falling masonry, Gregg and a group of fellow survivors bunkered down in an open square. Nearly two hours later, a second and more devastating wave of bombs rained down just as people began leaving their shelters.

“When the second wave came over they were all out in the open. The planes were dropping 4,000 lb [1.8 metric tons] canisters and when they hit the ground anything within about 400 yards was immediately incinerated.” -- source

Dresden was a magnificent city of three quarters of a million people, its population further swollen by hordes of anonymous refugees from the Eastern Front. Its historic heart was destroyed in one apocalyptic night by aircraft armed with more than 4,500 tons of high explosive and incendiary bombs. This devastated area amounted to around 13 square miles (34 square kilometers).

Drawing on archival sources, many never previously consulted, on burial records and scientific findings -- including street-by-street archaeological investigations -- plus hundreds of eye-witness reports, the "Dresden Commission of Historians for the Ascertainment of the Number of Victims of the Air Raids on the City of Dresden on 13/14 February 1945" has provisionally estimated the likely death-toll at around 18,000 and definitely no more than 25,000. -- source

One month after the massacre, the Dresden Chief of Police reported that over 200,000 bodies had been recovered from the ruins. The official added that the toll might possibly reach 250,000. Later, the International Red Cross estimated that 275,000 had died in the raids. Because of the incredible density of Dresden’s population on the night of February 13–14, because thousands of victims were refugees with no records, because many bodies either lay buried forever in the ruins or had simply melted like wax, other estimates that place the death toll at 300,000 to 400,000 may well be closer to the mark. -- source

Widely quoted Nazi propaganda reports claimed 200,000 deaths however the German Dresden Historians' Commission made up of 13 prominent German historians, in an official 2010 report published after five years of research concluded that casualties numbered between 18,000 and a maximum of 25,000, while some groups continue to claim that up to 500,000 people died. -- source

Hundreds of thousands of ethnic Germans fleeing the advancing Soviet Army flock to Dresden in late 1944 and early 1945, believing it to be a safe haven that the Allies will not target with fire-bombing raids, as done with dozens of other German cities. Dresden does not contain industrial or military targets. Along with the 600,000 normal residents of Dresden, this swells the population of the city to 1.2 million.

Contrary to what some allege, the Allies did not bomb German cities primarily to destroy industrial or military infrastructure. These ruthless and barbaric fire-bombing raids were primarily intended and specifically designed (using incendiary phosphorous bombs) to mass murder civilians, and terrorize the German people, as now confirmed by Allied government documentation, which specifically called for mass murder of civilians in order to "break the morale of the [German] population". [3] And this policy was not done solely to win the war, as many of these acts of mass murder, such as the case of Dresden, were undertaken long after it was apparent that the Allies would defeat Germany. These acts of mass murder were a deliberate agenda for genocide of the German people.

Over the course of approximately 14 hours on February 13-14, 1945, approximately 9,000 Allied bombers of the United States and Great Britain in three separate raids dropped over 700,000 incendiary bombs (including phosphorous incendiary bombs) on Dresden, creating a massive firestorm which was so hot that it melted asphalt, created a powerful backdraft and tornado-like winds of over 100 miles per hour which uprooted trees and literally sucked victims into the conflagration, and turned the bodies of those seeking shelter in basements into pools of liquefied fat and flesh. -- source

Ten thousand people (making Minidoka Idaho’s eighth largest city) were interned in tar-paper barracks that had no insulation, running water, or interior walls, and that were heated by coal-burning stoves. Barbed wire, guard towers, armed guards, and watch dogs secured the 950 acre site. -- source

First one can see well nourished detainees, mostly with striped zebra detainee's uniforms, and then comes the cut showing the emaciated German prisoners of war from summer 1945 on the meadows or in the mud of the Rhine meadow camps in the contaminated gray uniforms WITHOUT the typical striped zebra uniforms of detainees from German concentrations camps in the Third Reich. In Andernach about 50,000 prisoners of all ages were held in an open field surrounded by barbed wire. The women were kept in a separate enclosure that I did not see until later. The men I guarded had no shelter and no blankets. Many had no coats. They slept in the mud, wet and cold, with inadequate slit trenches for excrement. It was a cold, wet spring, and their misery from exposure alone was evident.

Even more shocking was to see the prisoners throwing grass and weeds into a tin can containing a thin soup. They told me they did this to help ease their hunger pains. Quickly they grew emaciated. Dysentery raged, and soon they were sleeping in their own excrement, too weak and crowded to reach the slit trenches. Many were begging for food, sickening and dying before our eyes. We had ample food and supplies, but did nothing to help them, including no medical assistance. -- source

The Soviets took prisoner some 3.5 million Europeans, the Americans about 6.1 million, the British about 2.4 million, the Canadians about 300,000, the French around 200,000.

As soon as Germany surrendered on 8 May 1945, the American Military Governor, General Eisenhower, sent out an "urgent courier" throughout the huge area that he commanded, making it a crime punishable by death for German civilians to feed prisoners. It was even a death-penalty crime to gather food together in one place to take it to prisoners.

One US Army officer who read the posted order in May 1945 has written that it was "the intention of Army command regarding the German POW camps in the US Zone from May 1945 through the end of 1947 to exterminate as many POWs as the traffic would bear without international scrutiny."

Martin Brech, retired professor of philosophy at Mercy college in New York, who was a guard at Andernach in 1945, has said that he was told by an officer that "it is our policy that these men not be fed." The 50,000 to 60,000 men in Andernach were starving, living with no shelter in holes in the ground, trying to nourish themselves on grass.

The prisoner Hans Scharf ... was watching as a German woman with her two children came towards an American guard in the camp at Bad Kreuznach, carrying a wine bottle. She asked the guard to give the bottle to her husband, who was just inside the wire. The guard upended the bottle into his own mouth, and when it was empty, threw it on the ground and killed the prisoner with five shots.

Many prisoners and German civilians saw the American guards burn the food brought by civilian women. One former prisoner described it recently: "At first, the women from the nearby town brought food into the camp. The American soldiers took everything away from the women, threw it in a heap and poured gasoline [benzine] over it and burned it." Eisenhower himself ordered that the food be destroyed, according to the writer Karl Vogel, who was the German camp commander appointed by the Americans in Camp 8 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Although the prisoners were getting only 800 calories per day, the Americans were destroying food outside the camp gate. -- source

The banksters’ unimaginable power of deceit turned the truth upside down, making into heroes the very instigators of these destructive wars. How on earth did they manage that? Through control of the mainstream media, science and academia (in particular history and economics), the education system and the entertainment industry. When the truth is finally heard, it’s difficult to grasp because the lies are so big, the scope so vast, and the real events of history so different to what we’ve been told.
