Well, for one thing, in the tradition of Zen that I've practiced, there is no prayerful worship and there is no affirmation of a deity.

I loved that quote, too! The Big Bang theory is an obvious crock, hardly better than the Biblical story of creation. The fact is that we don't know how things got started. We don't even know how most things work. In summary, we don't know squat. But we sure think we do!

Why is it so noble and respectable to find whence man came, and so suspicious and dishonorable to ask and ascertain whither he goes?

Damn thats a good quote Andy.

Quote:
It is better by noble boldness to run the risk of being subject to half the evils we anticipate than to remain in cowardly listlessness for fear of what might happen.

Herodotus

Quote:
Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love... Our aim must never be to defeat or humiliate the white man, but to win his friendship and understanding.[1]
“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy, instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

 Hey, everyone can be fooled, and we all are, to varying degrees.

There's also the matter of comparison (great compared to who... Bush, Obama?), and the accuracy of her knowledge base upon which her opinions are founded.
